Acupuncture

Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This complete medical system has been used effectively for thousands of years to treat a wide range of health concerns; including chronic and acute pain, emotional disorders, stress and anxiety, insomnia, digestive disorders, skin irritations, migraines, hormonal and reproductive issues in both women and men.

Hair thin needles are inserted painlessly into acupuncture points to balance and restore the body’s vitality. Acupuncture increases the body’s production of endorphins, stimulates the pain centers in the brain, and increases blood and oxygen circulation.

I would recommend her to anyone who’s a little nervous but curious about acupuncture, as well as regular devotees who just need a great healer.

Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Rejuvenation

Facial acupuncture is a safe, painless and effective treatment for reducing the signs of aging. It stimulates collagen and elastin production, thus reducing wrinkles and fine lines, firming the skin and improving complexion.

Constitutional Facial Acupuncture is a treatment based on your individual condition. Not only does it improve the appearance of your face and neck, it also restores balance to your entire body. Ultimately, the result is healthier skin and an improvement in the total sense of well-being. Within the 10-15 sessions protocol, facial acupuncture and can help diminish fine lines & reduce deep wrinkles, lessen dark circles and bags under the eye, tighten sagging jowls and brighten eyes and complexion.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Herbs play an intrinsic part in traditional Chinese medicine. They heal the body on a deep level to relieve pain, increase energy, and restore hormonal balance with little or no side effects. Unlike pharmacology in the West, the prescription of Chinese herbal medicine is catered to the constitution of the individual.

Herbs can be used alone or in conjunction with acupuncture. Anna offers herbal medicine in many forms, including: concentrated tea, powder, capsules, tablets and tinctures. She prescribes either premixed patents or individually mixed formulas, depending on the necessity and lifestyle of the client. Each prescription is a synergy of different herbs, tailored to the individual patient.

Fertility Acupuncture and IVF support

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can enhance fertility in both women and in men. Scientific studies conclude TCM protocols for fertility can improve pregnancy rates by regulating the endocrine system, and regulating other physiological processes related to fertility.

Fertility acupuncture can:

  • Improve the function of the ovaries to produce better quality eggs.
  • Regulate hormones to produce larger numbers of follicles.
  • Increase blood flow to the Uterus and Ovaries to aid implantation.
  • Relax the patient to induce parasympathetic nervous system dominance
  • Lessen unwanted side-effects of ART treatment.
  • Decrease miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy rates.
  • Improve semen densities in male factor infertility.

Fertility acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can be used to help prepare for, and enhance, conception in ART cycles for IVF, IUI and other ART protocols. It has been shown to improve fertility rates as much as 50% when used as a complementary therapy for IVF preparation and to support IVF or IUI treatment protocols.

I work closely with clients and their fertility specialists to develop an individualized infertility treatment plan to aid in conception.

Anna Hsieh Gold, L.Ac is a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).

I was referred to Anna when we found out that I had some fertility hurdles to overcome in order to get pregnant. She was a breath of fresh air from the moment I met her.

Microneedling

Microneedling, also known as ‘dermal acupuncture’ or ‘percutaneous collagen induction therapy,’ is a gentle treatment that is used to refine and smooth the skin. A hand held device containing sterilized micro needles is gently traced across facial skin to create ‘micro lesions’ which stimulate collagen regeneration and cellular turnover in the skin.

Pre and Post Natal Care

I have had postgraduate training with some of the Bay Area’s most respected midwives in pre and postnatal care. As a mother of two, I had acupuncture and herbs throughout both of my pregnancies. Acupuncture during pregnancy benefits both mother and baby. It treats many
conditions associated with pregnancy without side effects, including:

  • Frequent miscarriage
  • Bleeding
  • Nausea/Vomiting and Heartburn
  • Migraines
  • Low Back Pain/Sciatica
  • Fatigue
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Stress/Anxiety

During the third trimester, acupuncture can help

  • Turn a breech
  • Induce Labor
  • Prepare the body for a smooth labor and delivery

After the birth of your baby, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can

  • Speed recovery time
  • Heal sore tissues
  • Stop prolonged bleeding
  • Lift postpartum blues
  • Promote lactation
  • Help with sleep
Thanks to her knowledge of acupuncture, as well as her warm and calm presence, I was able to have a non-medicated delivery.
